For those referees from Canada interested in officiating at the 2020 CARHA Hockey World Cup, please note that you must be registered as a CARHA Hockey Referee member for the 2019-20 hockey season and have successfully completed the Referee Modules. The registration form is available here (PDF).
Referees from outside of Canada please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to notify of your interest.
Please note that all Referees travelling more than 1.5 hours by car (or 150km) to Richmond, British Columbia will be required to assume the Hotel Package. See details.
All registrations or notifications must be received by CARHA Hockey by September 30th, 2019 should you wish to be considered.
After September 30th, 2019, a listing will be prepared of all referees that are interested in participating in the 2020 CARHA Hockey World Cup.
With an estimated number of 60-75 referees required, CARHA Hockey’s selection process will be based on two factors:
1. The first 50% of the officials selected will come from the Host Province, in this case, British Columbia.
2. The remaining 50% will be allocated on a pro-rated system. For example, the number of applications received from a Province divided by the total number of applications (omitting British Columbia) equals the percentage of selected referees from that province. We will then take that percentage and multiply it by the remaining spots available to determine the number of referees by province that will be selected to participate in the 2020 CARHA Hockey World Cup. A random draw/lottery format will then be used to determine the selection.
The referee hotel package based on double occupancy (two people sharing a room) will be offered at a reduced rate of $675.00 (CAD) per person. The hotel package includes:
